Cross Age Peer (CAP) Mentorship project

Program description

The program enhances intercultural understanding and provides youth with opportunities for personal growth and community involvement through one-on-one and group sessions.

 

Program details

  • Weekly individual mentor/mentee sessions for immigrant youth to engage with mainstream youth
  • Additional language and academic support
  • Recreational and cultural activities that promote intercultural understanding
  • Interactive group workshops and field trips that teach civic rights and responsibilities
  • leadership opportunities and public speaking skills 

 

Eligible clients

The program is available for immigrant youth,  15-24 years of age.

 

Additional Program Information

  • The program aims to inspire youth to become engaged in their communities
  • Participants organize workshops and community presentations to raise awareness about multiculturalism and youth issues
  • Participants conduct an annual Youth Forum to involve and educate the community
  • Program is offered in partnership with schools and community organizations
