Labour Market Bridging for Volunteers: Interpretation and Translation

Program Description 

 

This project provides interpretation and translation training and related work experience to CIWA volunteers.

Eligible Clients

This project is available to immigrant women who are permanent residents and currently volunteering with CIWA. Candidates must have Canadian Language Benchmark of 7 or higher
as well as oral and written proficiency in a  second language.


Additional Program Information

  • 20 weeks of interpretation and translation training including work experience
  • Cultural Interpreter Language Interpretation Skills Assessment Test (CILISAT) and Interpreter Language Skills Assesment Test (ILSAT) preparation
  • Computer training (including translation software)
  • Volunteer and work experience opportunities with CIWA and other community partners
