Nola Heale was born and grew up in South Africa where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA UK) before working for large multi-national companies. She relocated her home and family between continents twice, and her mother and sister followed to Calgary, so she knows the challenge of adapting to new countries; including the struggle for recognition of credentials and professional experience which led her to requalify as a Chartered Professional Accountant in Canada.
Nola brings experience in finance, strategy, governance and leadership to her current professional role where she assists small and medium sized companies as a part-time chief financial officer. She is driven to see increased diversification as companies, their founders and teams succeed and grow. She believes CIWA’s support and opportunities provided to the immigrant community are an important part of this process and is proud to assist as a volunteer.
In her spare time Nola enjoys a variety of hobbies and travelling with her husband and two university student children, exploring new places, countries and cultures.
