Line Cook Training Program
The program equips immigrant women with skills and knowledge to work in restaurant kitchens.

Program Details

  • basic training in ingredient preparation and assembly of dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications
  • learn to operate in restaurants according to Canadian health and safety expectations
  • enhance workplace English
  • build knowledge of restaurant management
  • 12 weeks of occupational skills training

Eligible Clients

This project is available to immigrant women who are permanent residents, have a Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLBs) of 4-6. 


Additional Program Information

  • participants are reimbursed for childcare and transportation costs
  • computer skills training included
  • individual job search support available for all participants
  • follow-up support after program completion
  • referrals to other CIWA programs help participants access additional support service
