Child Development Worker Program
The program assists immigrant women who are currently employed as Child Development Assistants to obtain Child Development Worker Certification.

Program Details

  • 35 weeks of part-time training
  • Completion of Life Experience Equivalency Process (LEEP) training and exams
  • Test taking strategies training
  • Tutoring support

Eligible Clients

The program is available to immigrant and refugee women who are currently employed as Child Development Assistants with Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 or higher. Eligible clients include permanent residents and refugees. 


Additional Program Information

  • LEEP training is offered in partnership with Bow Valley College
  • participants are reimbursed for transportation costs
  • one-on-one tutoring support is available for all participants
  • referrals to other CIWA programs help participants access additional support services
